The AGM

A key component of ID4Africa’s activities is the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is an important engagement tool with our community, providing mechanisms for information dissemination and for networking and collaborations. Prior to COVID, it reunited physically 1300-1500+ delegates representing the identity stakeholders in Africa and the rest of the world.

With unprecedented times leading to unprecedented innovation, ID4Africa 2022 leverages our two most powerful platforms – our physical annual meeting and virtual LiveCasts – to offer you a first of its kind, augmented conferencing experience we call our Augmented General Meeting (AGM). Our AGM is structured as a physical meeting held over 2 days in Marrakesh, Morocco, June 15 & 16, followed by 2 dedicated summation and wrap-up Livecasts on June 28 & 30. In short, our AGM opens as a physical event and closes as a virtual event!

The objective of the AGM is to give the Continent a sustainable voice on identity matters. Consisting of three main components - the Conference, Exposition and LiveCasts- the AGM is where African governments meet physically to jointly explore how digital identity and aligned services can advance socio-economic development in their countries, and the international community is able to participate to advance discussions.

While our LiveCasts virtually gather the extended international community, the Conference and Exposition reunite, under one roof, three key stakeholder groups in the ID4Africa identity community:

  • Leading identity stakeholders from African governments
  • International development agencies & humanitarian agencies
  • The private sector

Who should attend?

Each stakeholder group may have a different motivation for attending but one thing is clear, ID4Africa 2022 is designed to ensure that everyone derives value from attending both physically and virtually.
